About Central Aboriginal Artists
Central Aboriginal Artists has been involved in indigenous art for over 15 years. After living in Alice Springs for many years, a move to Clare in South Australia, for a milder climate was made and opened the Clare Valley Art Gallery in November 2014. The gallery is a showcase to Utopian Art.
At our gallery visitors can learn firsthand how the art is created, more about the artists and their stories and leave with a better understanding of Aboriginal art and culture.
School groups regularly visit the gallery to learn about Aboriginal culture through their art, tools and musical items.
We work with many established artists while also encouraging and promoting new artists. Many of the artists travel from their home land in Northern Territory to the gallery in South Australia as artists in residence, holding exhibitions throughout the year.
Our gallery gives artists a platform to display their art and a place to experiment with colour and design. All work is purchased outright, providing a good source of income for the artists and their families.
All of our art work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and photos of the artist with their work.
Some of the artists we work with on a regular basis are:
Abie Loy Kemarre
Anna Price Pitjara
Evelyn Pultara
Gloria Petyarre
Betty Club Mbitjana
